NetStickies adds network functionality to Apple's "Stickies" application in System 7.5. You can send and receive stickies from other users that have NetStickies installed, or send clipboard text.
Installation:
You must put NetStickies and NetStickies Browser in your Extensions Folder. Also, put an alias to NetStickies Browser in the Apple Menu. Reboot.
Required:
Users must be running system 7.5 or later, and Apple's "Stickies" app must be in the Apple Menu Items folder (it's default location). All users of NetStickies must have Program Linking turned on, and have Users and Groups privileges on any mac they wish to send a stickie to.
How to send a stickie:
Open the Stickies app in the Apple Menu, create a new note, and add some text. At the end of the text hold down the option key and hit the carriage return. This will bring up the PPC Browser, asking you to locate a NetStickies user on the net to send your stickie to. Once you have located your target, the stickie will be sent.
To send text from the clipboard, hold the option key down while selecting the alias to the NetStickies Browser in the Apple Menu. Hold this key down until the PPC Browser dialog appears, then select your target as above. The text will appear on the target machine in a new stickie.
How to receive a stickie:
A stickie will appear on your screen whether or not you have the Stickies app open. That is, if Stickies is not running, it will be launched to show the newly arrived stickie.
Development notes:
It should be pretty stable. It patches no traps, and does not add any INIT code, so I don't think you'll see any init conflicts. It uses 32k of system heap memory.
